Anna Dalhaimer Bartowski compiled this cookbook in efforts to preserve the eating traditions from Mariental, Russia for the next generation. In the introduction, Bartowski writes, “These recipes guide you with clear directions and step-by-step photos so whether you are a gourmet chef or a novice cook, you can make delectable delights in your kitchen.”

The cookbook contains an introduction; a preparation and planning section; three main recipe sections: soups, main dishes, and desserts; family history; and appendices. The family history section includes scanned images from the Thalheimer Family Bible.
