Kochbuch

The Germans from Russia Heritage Collection is pleased to present this nicely done cookbook, Kochbuch: Der Deutschen aus Russland: A Book of Favorite Recipes, prepared by members of the Heart of America Chapter of the Germans from Russia Heritage Society at Rugby in Pierce County, North Dakota.

Traditional German-Russian main dish recipes include Fleisch Kuechle, Schmierkase, Wienergulash, Halupsy, Krautbroken, Wiener Schnitzel, dumplings, cream noodles, and Spaetzle.

Desserts include German fruit cake, German cinnamon coffee cake, Peffernuese, ammonia cookies, Blachinda, apple turnovers (Kalotsh), Fattigman, Kaese Kuchen, Zucher Kuchen, Appelkuchen, and wedding Kuchen.
