The Werre family settled near to the Glueckstal Lutheran Church north of Napoleon, ND and south of Tappen, ND. The church is located in Kidder County, ND. The first Werre pioneer homesteaders immigrated from the Black Sea German Glueckstal District villages in South Russia, today in Moldova.
Due to the popularity of the cookbook, Walter D. Werre re-published the cookbook. On pages I to VIII, included are the members of the Gottfried Werre, Jr., and Katherina Stauss who contributed to this family cookbook. There is a detailed index to the recipes.
