The Germans from Russia Heritage Collection is pleased to provide one of the most popular music CDs ever produced of Germans from Russia traditional folk music. This popular of fifteen well known folksongs and five dance songs of the Germans from Russia (Russlanddeutschen). The music relates to the folksongs from Ukraine, Volga, Kaukasus, and Central Asia (1763-1941).
The performers are Katharina Rissling (singing) born in 1958 at Dschambul, Kasachstan; JakobFischer (singing) born in 1955 at Tobolino, Tschimkent, South Kasachstan; Wladimir Dederer (instrument) born in 1959 at Zelinograd (Astana), Kasachstan; and Eduard Frickel (instrument) born in 1959 at Karaganda, Kasachstan. Each person studied music in Kasachstan before immigrating to Germany.
